How to Fight Spiritual Warfare in Your Christian Business

Kingdom-aligned brands don't have a hard divide between "real life" and "spiritual life" and "business life". A calling for your life is a calling on your life—it's all interwoven.

So why are we out here thinking that pursuing a God-given vision in business isn't opening us up to Enemy attack?

Where's our armor, our battle plans, our warrior stance firm in the Spirit?

I know I've felt the movement of the Enemy against me in my business (hello anxiety, doubt, imposter syndrome, fear, jealousy, etc.) and I know there was more to be done in partnership with the Spirit to fight back and take territory for the Kingdom.

If you're a business owner and a Christ-follower, here are some spiritual rhythms (familiar and maybe new) to try out as you deepen your relationship with Him and keep up the good fight for the Kingdom.

Prayer

But for real, y'all. Like how often do you take 20 minutes to pray at the beginning of your work day? Before a coaching session? To take a whole day away from daily tasks just to commune with God and ask Him about what He has for your business? I don't do it enough, so it's top of the list.

Sabbath

I'll be clear: You need to rest. You need to take a day off. It's commanded of you, Christian. I know you believe your 70 hour work weeks are what are keeping your new business afloat, but I dare you to trust the God that called you will equip you as you honor Him.

Tithing

Money is a resource given from God to His people to accomplish His purposes. I believe He often gives one us of money to give to another. The money coming into your business? A gift to be stewarded. Consider thinking about tithing and stewardship as your plan your quarterly and annual revenue goals.

Scripture study

God has a lot to say about how we conduct ourselves in the market place, in leadership, in mentorship in His word. Commit to spending some time pursuing God's heart for your role in the marketplace as His ambassador. What does the Word have to say? Jane Johnson has a great Bible study called "Be Thou My Vision" that dives deep into just this!
